Apatite

Apatite is a calcium phosphate and is normally found as small crystals in an array of colours. It is a very soft and crumbly mineral and extreme care should be taken when working with it - we would not recommend its use in jewellery which is subject to rough handling or knocks (eg bracelets). It is not normally treated. Hardness: 5 (Mohs).
