Aquamarine
Aquamarine is a member of the beryl group and its iron content gives it its characteristic blue colour. Most aquamarine is heat treated (permanent, stable and acceptable in the market) to give a clear blue, without tinges of yellow, grey or green. Birthstone for March. Hardness: 7.5 (Mohs).
