Fire Opal

Fire opal (mainly mined in Mexico) is a type of opal in which red, brown, orange and yellow colours predominate. Play of colour is not usually shown. It has a high water content and thus should be protected from heat and strong sunlight. Hardness: 6-6.5 (Mohs).
